Budget Tracker Pro
The quickest way to reach us is support@peacocktech.ca. If you are reporting a problem, it helps to include your iOS or macOS version and the app version, which is shown in Settings → About.
Getting started
Create a budget with the + button, give it an amount and a date range, then add expenses to it. Expenses only count towards a budget when their date falls inside that budget's range.
iCloud sync
Turning it on
The first time you open the app you are offered Enable iCloud Sync. You can also start it later from Settings → iCloud Sync. Your device needs to be signed in to iCloud.
My budgets are not appearing on my other device
- Check both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID.
- Open Settings → iCloud Sync and tap Sync Now, or pull down on the budget list to refresh.
- Settings → Sync Status shows how many items are still waiting to upload.
Does sync cost anything?
No. Your budgets are stored in your own private iCloud database, which comes with your Apple ID. A budget with years of expenses is a very small amount of data.
Sharing a budget
Sending an invitation
Open a budget, tap the people icon, then Share via Link. That hands off to Apple's own sharing sheet, so you can send the invitation through Messages, Mail or AirDrop.
The link opened the App Store instead of the app
This happens with TestFlight builds, because the link expects a published App Store version. The recipient can work around it: copy the share link, open the app, and go to Settings → Accept Shared Budget, then paste the link there.
Who can change a shared budget?
Whoever owns the budget sets each participant's permission when sharing. The owner can revoke access at any time. A shared budget is stored in the owner's iCloud account, not the participants'.
Your data
Exporting
Settings → Export Budgets produces a CSV or JSON file of your budgets and expenses, which you can send anywhere via the share sheet. Individual budgets can also be exported from the budget's own screen.
Backups
Your data lives on your device, and in iCloud if sync is on. Keeping iCloud Backup enabled and taking the occasional export is the safest combination.
Deleting everything
Deleting the app removes its local data from that device. If sync was enabled, a copy remains in your iCloud account until you remove it from iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
